Role Summary
- You will be a Non-Executive Director (NED) on the NHS Blood and Transplant (NHSBT) Board.
- NHSBT collects and gives blood, tissues, stem cells, and organs to hospitals in the UK.
- You will help guide NHSBT by working with the Chair, Chief Executive, and team.
- You must have senior experience, work well in teams, and make good decisions based on evidence.
Key Tasks
- Support and challenge the team in running NHSBT.
- Look at different information and help make important choices.
- Give advice and help oversee NHSBT activities.
Skills And Experience
- You need clinical experience in organ transplantation or blood transfusion.
- For organ transplantation, you should understand solid organ transplant and be respected in that field.
- It helps if you know about national organ donation work, clinical rules, or research.
- For blood transfusion, you should know about using blood parts and be respected in that area.
- It helps if you have experience in blood disease (haematology), managing transfusion services, or plasma products.
Pay And Hours
- You will get £7,883 per year.
- You need to work 2 to 3 days each month.
- The job can last up to 3 years, decided by the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care.
