The Senior Public Affairs Officer role is a vital position within the busy Policy, Campaigns and Mobilisation team. The role will help us to deliver on our mission to end the harm from diabetes, by pushing diabetes up the political agenda and building support for our policy recommendations amongst parliamentarians. You will be responsible for identifying influencing opportunities and delivering parliamentary events to engage decision-makers in our campaigns.

You will work with colleagues across the Policy, Campaigns and Mobilisation team to deliver impactful public affairs work. You will develop strong relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers, including parliamentarians and within NHS England. You will use these relationships to build support for our policy recommendations to improve the lives of everyone living with diabetes, improve diabetes healthcare, reduce the rise in type 2 diabetes and tackle health inequalities. As Senior Public Affairs Officer you will play an important role in developing Diabetes UK’s influencing strategies to make sure we deliver change for people affected by diabetes.
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be passionate about using public affairs to bring about change for everyone affected by diabetes. You will be proactive and organised, with experience working in public affairs. You will have excellent knowledge of UK Parliament and politics, and will work to keep this up to date with the ever-changing political environment.
