Head of Social Entrepreneur Support
UnltdJob of the Week
We are UnLtd, the Foundation for Social Entrepreneurs. Our mission is to find social entrepreneurs with bold solutions to today’s challenges. Through funding and support, we help them to realise their potential and creating lasting change.
Thank you for your interest in joining UnLtd, the Foundation for Social Entrepreneurs, as the Head of Social Entrepreneur Support. UnLtd passionately believes in the ability of social entrepreneurs to change the world for the better – and I’m delighted you do too. We are living through a time of unique social and economic change, driven by globalisation, technological transformations and connectivity. Growing economic inequality and tension mean many people and places need support to level the playing field and lead with equity. Trust in all four key institutions — business, government, NGOs and the media — has declined dramatically. In the UK, enormous pressures on the health and social care system, austerity, increasing income inequality, the roll back of public services, and the shifting nature of work all throw up major challenges, this alongside the impact of Covid 19 means tackling these complex challenges requires a radical shift in thinking and practice.
We need bold and sustainable innovations, designed and led by people who have direct experience of the issues they are seeking to address. These innovations must build on the ideas, energy, talent and resources of people and communities in an inclusive, participatory way. They should create both social and economic value. This is the promise that social entrepreneurs offer, and UnLtd exists to realise this promise. We are the leading supporter of social entrepreneurs in the UK. Our vision is of a society where social entrepreneurs are providing solutions that change the world for the better.
Through our 2025 vision we will help social entrepreneurs to break down the barriers they face, including raising capital, developing routes to markets, accessing specialist advice, evidencing their impact, lead with inclusion and finding the right talent. We will help over 2,500 social entrepreneurs to set up and grow their ventures and have great impact. Our Head of Social Entrepreneur Support is a leadership role at the heart of UnLtd’s largest team.
You will be an exceptional individual with expertise in:
• Delivering leadership
• People development
• Building relationships
• Grant making and social investment
• Community development and systems thinking
We are particularly keen to hear from those who identify as Black, Asian, or Minority Ethnic (BAME), LGBTQIA, those with a disability, impairment, learning difference, those with caring responsibilities, from a less advantaged socioeconomic background as well as any other under-represented group in our workforce.
