Role Summary
- The Senior Governor leads the University Court, the main decision group.
- They help make sure the University is well run and follows laws.
- The University of Aberdeen is very old and wants to include many people and ideas.
Key Tasks
- Lead meetings or arrange for meetings to be led.
- Make sure the University follows rules and laws.
- Watch over the University’s plans, money, and risks.
- Help the Principal and leaders be responsible and clear about their jobs.
- Make decisions fair, open, and including everyone.
Skills And Experience
- Experience leading a large complicated group or organisation.
- Experience as a chairperson of big meetings.
- Know the difference between leaders who manage and leaders who govern.
- Good with strategy and money matters.
- Able to make fair choices and be trustworthy.
- Can work well with many different people.
Pay And Hours
- You will get £22,000 for about 50 days of work each year.
- You can get money back for travel or other work costs.
