Role Summary
- Join the Food Standards Agency (FSA) as Deputy Chair or member.
- Help keep food safe and protect people who buy food.
- Work with Ministers from England, Wales, and Northern Ireland.
Key Tasks
- Make sure the FSA does its important jobs.
- Help set plans and check how the FSA is doing.
- Take part in Board meetings and Committees.
- Speak for the FSA to important groups.
- If Deputy Chair, help run meetings and support the Chair.
- Help Board members work well as a team.
Skills And Experience
- Experience working with the public.
- Able to represent what consumers need.
- Strong career with important decisions made.
- Good at teamwork and understanding information.
- Good communication and people skills.
- Deputy Chair needs experience leading meetings and understanding good rules.
- Member role welcomes people with data or AI experience.
Pay And Hours
- Deputy Chair: £14,000 for 35 days each year.
- Member: £8,000 for 20 days each year.
- Appointments last up to 3 years.
Location And Workplace
- Work with Board members from across the UK.
- Meetings and work may be online or in different places.
