Role Summary
- The Welsh Government needs a Chair for the Office of Environmental Governance Wales.
- This office will watch over environmental laws in Wales.
- It will make sure the government and public bodies follow environmental rules.
- The Chair will lead the Board and help start the new office.
- This is a chance to help make Wales greener and safer for the future.
Key Tasks
- Lead the Board and give clear direction.
- Ensure the office stays independent.
- Help build the office's good reputation.
- Oversee the office as it starts up.
- Monitor if environmental laws are followed.
- Look into environmental problems and give advice.
Skills And Experience
- Have lots of experience as a leader at a senior level.
- Know how to work well with groups and make good decisions.
- Be fair, honest, and independent.
- Preferably know about environmental law or science.
- Be committed to good public service.
Pay And Hours
- You will be paid £348 per day plus expenses.
- Work up to 4 days a month for the first 2 years.
- After that, work reduces to 2 days a month.
Location And Workplace
- Work with the Office of Environmental Governance Wales.
- Based in Wales, mainly office and meeting work.
