Role Summary
- Lead the Independent Reconfiguration Panel (IRP).
- Give advice about NHS service changes in England.
- Help the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care decide on NHS changes.
- Work with other panel members and staff.
Key Tasks
- Review information about NHS changes.
- Plan questions to understand cases.
- Make fair and clear recommendations with the panel.
- Keep up to date with NHS and government plans.
Skills And Experience
- Have strong leadership experience at a high level.
- Be able to lead a group of experts.
- Use good judgement to make decisions based on evidence.
- Communicate well and build good relationships.
- Know about NHS service planning and changes.
- Experience working with government and health care is helpful but not required.
Pay And Hours
- Pay is £36,780 per year.
- Work up to 2 days a week.
- Attend about 4 meetings a year and other occasional work.
- Appointment can last up to 4 years.

- Some meetings may be in person or online.
