  • The Council is the main group that makes big decisions for HCPC.
  • You will be a Lay Council member, not a health professional.
  • You may chair the Audit and Risk Assurance Committee.
  • You help plan the future and watch how HCPC works.

  • Attend about 30 days of meetings each year.
  • Go to Council meetings in London, in person.
  • Join other meetings online.
  • Help make big decisions for HCPC.
  • Give advice and check risks and plans.
  • Make sure HCPC follows rules and is fair.

  • Have experience making decisions as part of a group.
  • Be good at working with others.
  • Believe in being open and responsible.
  • Care about keeping the public safe.
  • Support equality and diversity.
  • Have recent financial experience and an accountancy qualification.

  • Other committee meetings are virtual (online).
