Role Summary
- You will be the Chair of National Highways Board.
- National Highways looks after important roads in England.
- You will help make sure the roads are safe and work well.
- You will lead the Board and check that the team meets its goals.
- You will work with government leaders and other groups.
Key Tasks
- Lead the Board meetings and help make good decisions.
- Support and check the work of the National Highways team.
- Help with planning how to improve roads and keep people safe.
- Build good relationships with government and other groups.
- Promote honesty, good rules, and teamwork.
Skills And Experience
- Experience leading a Board or team at a high level.
- Good at making tough decisions and solving problems.
- Know about how organisations are run well (governance).
- Can talk and work well with many kinds of people.
- Used to working in busy and important roles.
Pay And Hours
- This role is up to two days each week.
- It is a three-year job at first, with a chance to continue.
- Start date is in Spring 2027, after checks and security clearance.
Location And Workplace
- You can work flexibly from different places.
- You will travel to London and other National Highways locations.
