Role summaryRole Summary
  • You will work as a Hydrologist at Natural Resources Wales (NRW).
  • You will help teams inside NRW and outside with water and hydrology questions.
  • You will study water data to help make important decisions about water use and floods.
  • You will help manage the River Dee water system.
Key tasksKey Tasks
  • Look at real water data and understand it.
  • Help decide about water licences and how to respond to droughts.
  • Support work on the River Dee Regulation Scheme.
  • Work on important projects and learn from senior experts.
  • Travel to and work at remote places in North and Mid Wales.
Skills and experienceSkills And Experience
  • You should have a degree in environmental or physical science like geography or hydrology.
  • You must have a full and current UK driving licence because you will drive to different sites.
  • You should be ready to work on your own in the field.
Pay and hoursPay And Hours
  • You will have set work hours and get paid as agreed in your contract.
  • NRW supports flexible working hours and some home working.
  • Face-to-face meetings or training will be planned ahead.
Location and workplaceLocation And Workplace
  • You will be based at an NRW office in North or Mid Wales.
  • You will travel to outdoor and remote work sites that cannot be reached by public transport.
  • You will work with a team but also spend time alone in the field.
