Swansea Bay University Health Board
Appointment of an Independent Member - Legal Remuneration of £15,936 per year, plus travel and other reasonable expenses within reasonable limits for minimum of four (4) days per month.

We are recruiting for an independent member (legal) for Swansea Bay University Health Board.  This is a great opportunity to use your skills and experience from a legal background to make a difference to the lives of people and communities in Swansea Bay, while helping to shape the future of health care in NHS Wales.

Swansea Bay University Health Board is a large and complex organisation.  We commission and provide all community and hospital based health services for almost 400,000 residents.  Many more use our specialist tertiary services.  Our focus is always to support the health and wellbeing of our population and achieve improved health outcomes.  We have an ambitious organisational strategy that is closely aligned to the progressive policy and legislative landscape in Wales, including a shift to prevention and primary care, close integration with social services and the Wellbeing of Future Generations Act.

As an independent member, you will be expected to play a full and active role in the governance of the Health Board, both clinical and corporate and will bring to the Board an independent judgment on issues of performance, key appointments, looking ahead and accountability.  You will also enjoy working collaboratively with local and national partners.

An independent member will be appointed for up to a four (4) year period based on a notional time commitment of a minimum of four (4) days per month subject to organisational demands, but is often higher than the minimum requirement.

We are particularly interested to hear from under-represented groups such as women, disabled people and ethnic minority individuals and the skills you have to make a contribution in these areas.

Please note that the closing date is 20/12/2021. Application forms received after this date will not be considered.
It is expected to hold interviews during w/c 14/02/2022.
